Having agricultural ancestors from Holland and a youth of travel in Australia and then Europe-Middle East, I returned to Australia and moved to the peri-urban ‘paradise’ of the Hawkesbury.
I have always been interested in plants and nature. With experience on all sorts of farms I am very much attracted to a more natural approach to land management.
Teaching at community college, TAFE and university. Particularly interested in practical and experiential learning. And exploring the connection between humans to the land. I worked as a Ranger, and did education for the Royal Botanic Gardens at Mount Tomah. With qualifications in Horticulture (Hawkesbury Agricultural College), Social Ecology, Environmental Management at Western Sydney University. Experience in private enterprise, corporate and government employment.
